The Science Behind Energy Work & Pain

Dr. Julia Spinolo is back for season 3 to talk with Dr. Kate about the science of energy healing when it comes to managing pain. Julia shares studies on the effects of reiki versus “sham” reiki, and how to properly set your intentions when giving or receiving energy work.

    This was a great show!

I would love to see a show on Marconics Energy. It is supposed to be a cut above all the other energy healings available now.

I really enjoy how Julia explains her work with Reiki and integrating Eastern and Western medicine. It is vital to the progression of medicine to integrate both and all modalities as one shoe doesn’t fit all wearers so to speak. When I did massage therapy in a chiropractic office, I used to hear from clients often of how different their massage sessions were with me versus other therapists. I was integrating Reiki for most of my massage sessions. When I would need to explain how Reiki works, I used to tell clients “think of the outlet in the wall… you are the toaster, I am the outlet and the Universal energy is the incoming electrical feed so it is between you and Source. The practitioner is just the conduit for both ends to flow through.” I love using it in all types of healing. I love that Julia is using a pendulum as well to check on the chakras as this was something I had felt was needed and have done in my own sessions. Love it! Keep sharing and especially to those peers in the Western medical field!

Hi and thank you so much for your comments! I absolutely agree with your statement of integrating all modalities–you worded it beautifully. I love your toaster analogy too. I’ll be doing more shows in April, so stay tuned :). We’ll be lighting the path for our friends in the Western medical field… very exciting stuff for sure.

What a great show and I totally agree with it all. I just completed my Reiki 2 at the LL Center and am enjoying it immensely. Two nights ago my son woke up screaming and crying about ear pain. I used mullein and garlic oil a small dose of pain meds and let the reiki flow on that ear. Um so no more ear pain and it’s been two days. ??? He’s at his grandma’s having a blast with no reports of any ear pain. Reiki for the win.
